That first year of motherhood comes with many gifts.
or, as we might want to call them: existential-crisis-inducing, radical changes.
In the raging seas of so much newness, it’s often impossible to find any sense of calm and order. That first year with your baby is an entirely fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants experience, driven entirely by a tiny human who is inclined towards chaos.
Much of what we do this first year of motherhood is reduced to survival. Our baby is everything — but, where does that leave the oftentimes exhausted, depleted, lonesome moms out there?

If you’re like most mothers, the year after giving birth is far from the picture-perfect, insta-worthy postpartum experience.
After giving birth to my daughter Jasmine, I was entirely reduced to feelings, both emotional and physical. Whereas I once might have had the time and attention to solve my issues from the root of the problem upwards, I felt as if I was left to deal with the often painful consequences of focusing entirely on another little being, completely alone. Too many times, mothers have to endure these hardships with no true support, and far removed from their own sense of self.

Energy medicine is the way to do more than just survive motherhood, especially when you have no more than 5 minutes to yourself a day.

Let’s face it. That first year, almost everything is about the baby ~ as it should be! but Yogease is not focused around your baby. Yogease is about YOU, as a living, breathing, human being who experiences real emotions and feels real feelings. The emotional labor of motherhood extends far beyond birth, and i know how to help it. I have been meditating and doing yoga for years. When I gave birth to my daughter, I gave up my career as a freelance travel writer to study, deep in my own body and motherly experience, just how meditation, breathwork, and mindful movement can come together to flip the exhaustion and dogma of motherhood on its heads.

I developed Yogease because I didn’t want to spend more time away from my newborn any more than I had to — I simply wanted to be more present for Jasmine, more in tune with my intuition, and for our ever-so-limited time in this lovely, challenging stage to more meaningful.
There are plenty of happy times in motherhood.

Hi, i’m Rosie and I created Yogease! Amongst many things, I am a yoga teacher, healer, and creative soul who has dedicated her life to understanding the energetic intricacies of the mind, body, and spirit. My yoga teachings bring together poses, meditations, and wellness rituals to encourage students to release limiting thought patterns and embrace the passionate, humble, dynamic, sensual life they’ve been given.
For more than 10 years, my life’s dharma is to share perspectives and ways of thinking that have the humble potential of impacting the world as a whole. However, it wasn’t until I brought my own daughter earthside that I realized that these were useful tools, and healing motherhood was one of the best places to start. My daughter, Jasmine Paradise, was born and it wasn’t long before I felt that I was losing myself: my body, my autonomy, my money, my marriage, my sense of joy. I was suffering from postpartum depression. I was fighting with anyone I could get a rise out of. My baby was growing and time was slipping away. It was from this place of necessity that I dedicated myself to learning how yoga could help me navigate this new, terrifying, lonely road. These are the teachings that helped me find inspiration in motherhood ~ and now, I share them with you.

- Yogease is for any person, of any gender (specified or non) that identifies as a mother to a human child. It does not matter if you are a first-time mother, a sixth-time mother, an adoptive mother, a mother figure, a person who has given birth, a stay at home mom, a working mother, a single mother, a partnered mother… and including any combination of these and any that are left unlisted. The definition of ‘mother’ is entirely up to you ~ the yoga will change and support you as you are, in any capacity.
- Though Yogease is designed to complement your life after you are approved by a medical professional for normal exercise, movement, and sexual activity, the movements are all designed to be gentle, accessible, and focused mostly on internal attention and breath that vigorous movements. Most breathing exercises are safe to be done immediately after birth. If you are still pregnant, we have prenatal courses available for you! As with any yoga or movement classes, it is your responsibility to move in alignment with your body and listen to her cues. If something does not feel good or goes against your intuition, please do not proceed with that particular practice.
This really hits home for a lot of mothers. There is simply no more time in the day for personal matters than you already have. If it was possible, wouldn’t you have already taken that time and done something productive with it? As they say, yoga is 1% theory and 99% practice. You can know about yoga and its many benefits, but you will never experience those benefits for yourself unless you actually do it. This, for many mothers, will likely be her first Yogease challenge: evaluating her everyday life, going through it with a fine-tooth comb, and finding those spare moment that can be collected and redirected towards her 5 minutes a day of true, uninterrupted self-exploration. It’s possible, for every woman who truly desires it.
Yogease is not a philosphy-heavy membership. There are no long blocks of text to read, or ideas to mull over. Yogic and tantric theory is very much present is Yogease, but on a very subtle level. We engage with yoga through effective, sustained experiences in our body. Once we open our minds and body, deeper understanding has room to flow in.
